Today, I went to my boyfriend's mom's house for the first time. They had a cook-out so I got to meet his whole entire family. I went into the kitchen to find a huge picture of his ex-girlfriend on his mom's fridge. FML

Try not to let it bother you, and don't say anything about it. Hopefully they'll like you enough eventually to replace her picture with yours. If it's still there months from now though, you'll probably have to "accidentally" tear it off. haha

That's nothing. My boyfriend and I have been living together for 2 years and his mum still has a photo of his ex on the loungeroom wall. We get along okay, I don't know why it is, and when I've discussed it with the BF he said it's her house and she can decorate it how she likes. My advice is to just leave it. you don't know the relationship the gf and the mother had, she could have been the daughter she never had. Just because their relationship ended, doesn't mean the mother looked on her any less fondly. If he doesn't live at home, that's about his mum, not him.
