Today, I went to pick up my sister's wedding cake. It was a nice day, the shop was close, and the cake wasn't too big so I walked. On my way back, I stepped aside for a kid on a bike, tripped over my shoelaces, and dumped my sister's expensive, custom-designed cake. The wedding is tomorrow. FML

Today, I stood too fast, got dizzy, and fell over. I fell on the grandmother of the bride, pushing her into the wedding cake table. Cake ruined, grandmother in hospital for a broken arm, and everybody mad at me. FML

Today, I was the maid of honor at my sister's wedding. I was the first one to walk down the aisle, where I managed to trip over a wire, shutting off the music and falling on my face. My family cheered and took pictures. FML

Today, it was my boyfriend's mom's surprise birthday party. I was sent to pick up the very expensive cake and dozens of balloons. Not only was it windy and the balloons flew away, I tripped and dropped the cake. In the driveway in front of all their family and friends. FML

Today, as I was leaving church with a cake in my hands (mind you it was pouring, and I was in heels) I decided to walk on the road instead of the sidewalk so I could get to my car as quick as possible. Turns out, the road is slippery, and slipping means falling. With the cake. FML

Today, my sisters and I were throwing my mom a birthday party. Since I'm not good at baking, I ordered her a really nice and expensive cake. As my daughter and I were headed out the door, she told me she had added some sprinkles to make it pretty. It was the silica beads from a package. FML

Who cares? It's just cake. Lop off the part that hit the ground and pick out the old gum. You can still eat it. Doesn't matter how something looks before you eat it.

Oh my gosh, that really really sucks. But honestly, you should have driven it. And no, not every single bakery insists on delivering their wedding cakes, it CAN be an additional charge. Ugh.. Wedding cakes are insanely expensive... I hope it's not a huge wedding... For your sake. And to the person that said it doesn't matter what it looks like, as long as it's edible... The wedding cake is one of the most photographed things at the wedding... It probably has more pictures of it taken than the groom has taken of him. So, most people would care. Especially those that got a custom cake. Otherwise, go for an "Abstract" look. And tell NO ONE where you got the cake.
