GPemTGM tells us more.
At #24. I know my grandfather better than anyone. He remembered me when he saw me and asked if my brother was my husband, I told him he wasn't and he smiled. Then later when I told him I was his grand-daughter, that's when he looked disappointed. I love him more than anything it broke my heart.

Yeah something tells me he's not actually disappointed in you... Although if he were to read this then he'd have something to be disappointed about. He just had a stroke and couldn't remember you. Ever stop to think he was ashamed of himself for not remembering?
I agree. I had a great aunt who would try her hardest to remember us, she would say 'don't tell me' and we would just stand there for awhile and eventually someone would speak up. the look on her face was heart breaking when she was reminded of who we are, but not a "oh **** you are my niece" kinda look...more like a "I cant believe I didn't remember" kind of look. it was sad.
A stroke is a horrible thing to happen. He probably feels fustrated he can't remember you--be a little more undersanding OP
I'm thinking he was thrilled to have this hot, young chick fawning over him, but when he found out he was your grandpa, he realized his chances of nailing you went down substantially.
That's what I figured his thought process was.
I'm sure he didn't mean it that way, shit the poor dude had a stroke @-@ but then again if you showed up with tatts and piercings then I dunno what you were expecting from someone who came from a time before those were widely accepted
Return the look...

At #56 I understand that now. I was just initially in shock at his reaction. I'm on my way to go see him again right now.
I am not 56, I hope your grandfather heals quickly. Some people are fortunate enough that the make almost a full recovery. I know you probably were in a lot of shock when it happened and did not mean to come off as if you were complaining.

Are you seriously so self centered that your entering that as an fml? Get over yourself. He just had a stroke and is most likely extremely confused with what's going on. Just keep visiting, and loving him. Not everything is about you.
Gee wiz, nice family you got there...
