Even doctors make mistakes, so it's not 100% on the nurse...but it does seem that after six weeks some red flags should have up. Good thing it wasn't lung cancer!
Everyone has said nurses shouldn't diagnose a patient. This nurse did and, while doctors also make mistakes, that's on her.
I have pneumonia at they moment as well, it sucks and I don't know how they confused it. I hope you feel better OP
That's pretty much what I expect from doctors now. For the longest time they dismissed my health issues too, told me I just "needed antidepressants". Glad I got a better doctor because it turns out I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. If it doesn't sound right to you, get another opinion.
Took almost 30 years for mine to be diagnosed *hugs*
Definitely report that nurse to the higher ups. S/he needs to know it's not ok to do shit like that.
While the attitude can't be condoned, don't be too hard on the misdiagnosis OP. My school nurse once insisted that the pain in my eyes was allergies, then I went to an eye specialist who said it was an infection. After two years of treating it like an infection and not improving, I was finally diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that caused my immune system to attack the tissue in my eyes. Long story short, medicine is a practice and not every doctor is House who can identify illnesses immediately.
I have something similar, I better get checked out...
What a worthless first visit...she should have known...
Recipe for salt water? Salt... water... pretty self explanatory :/

Did she not listen to your lungs at your last appointment? lung sounds are definitely useful clues.
I had the exact same thing happen to me!! I sat there, hacking up a lung with a 102 fever while they told me it was "just allergies". Yep, pneumonia. That was 5 years ago and it still makes me so mad!
