Today, I went to the doctor's with my pregnant sister, only to find out she still weighs less than me. FML

This FML depends on how many months pregnant OP's sister is

If you're unhappy about your weight and want to make a change, use this as motivation.

Weight is just a number, you define what it really means to you

Nonsense. Being overweight is a very big sign people lack self control or concern over their health. Coddling overweight people does absolutely nothing positive for their health or lives

why the gym? why not just watch what she eats and go for walks/runs/ bike rides?

As long as you are healthy weight shouldnt matter. Don't define your self worth by what a scale or society dictates as acceptable.

that's not necessarily a bad thing. maybe your sister is just to skinny.

Since this is an FML, we can gather that OP is indeed bothered by her weight. And if she is, only she can take the steps necessary to change this.

It's not like you can't do anything about it

Always remember, muscle is denser than fat. You might have more muscle than her which makes you weigh more.

A child doesn't give a drastic Change in weight the highest I know of was around 9.8 lbs...

Do you REALLY think the only weight a pregnant woman gains is the baby itself? Do a bit more research - there have been babies born weighing upwards of 13 pounds.

@35 Seriously. Plus placenta weight. Plus natural weight gain from feeding two people. I mean, you shouldn't be throwing on an extra 60+lbs or anything, but it's not unnatural to gain 30ish pounds when pregnant.

Holy crap, 13lbs! I hope she had a c-section.

I've only gained 15 and I'm due next month...

Natural weight gain from feeding two people? Seriously? That's just a myth some pregnant women tell themselves to make themselves feel better for blowing up during pregnancy from eating all those peanut butter cups. Pregnant women don't need to eat like horses; as long as they're eating properly and getting the right nutrients the baby will be fine. Light exercise is even recommended. There's no real reason for a pregnant woman to, "eat for two."
