Today, I went to the mall to pick up the 1 carat diamond my husband recently purchased for me after 6 years of being together. My mom called, I answered my cell. Later, I realized that the baggie with the diamond was no longer in my pocket. It fell out when I answered my phone. FML

Lol! Despite all the mean comments, I thought I would clarify a few things. #1 I am completely aware that I deserved it. #2 The whole reason I had the diamond in a baggie in my pocket was that I had JUST picked it up from the store. We were not buying their solitaire mounting, because I already had another setting picked out at a different store. #3 My mom was babysitting my son, and had taken him on an hour long drive, so I was waiting at the mall for her to come back, she would call me when she got home. I went across the way to the Apple Store, and I was only there for about half an hour when she called me, and I took out my phone. #4 I don't own a handbag! I'm not a girly girl and I hate purses. The good news: I filed a police report to get the footage from the Apple Store. They caught the person who didn't turn it in. =P KARRRMA. They had already sold it, but my insurance is replacing it. Also, anyone who thinks this is something to get divorced over...you are ridiculous. =] My husband and I are very much in love, and we have a beautiful baby boy together. These are petty little things. Money comes and goes, and it is not worth fighting over.

It was in a baggie?? WTF kind of jewelry store puts a diamond in a baggie? Whatever.. YDI for being so careless.

You kept a 1 carat diamond in a baggie in your pocket along with your cell phone? Are you always this stupid, or only when you're transporting precious gemstones?

So glad you were in a store with good camera equipment! I will never understand why people on here call others such horrible names tho! I personally do not think you or your husband is an idiot! I also don't think getting a diamond after 6 years of marriage means you are materialistic or shallow...

I'm glad things ended happily for you. As for the mean comments on how materialistic you are, it's you and your husband's money, you can do what you want with it.

Stuff falls out of my pockets all the time when I take out my phone. Accidents happen and the only reason this is a problem is because people are so dishonest they will steal anything not directly attached to you. Glad it worked out though.

Your husband is an idiot for spending so much money on something so stupid, and you're an idiot for being so shallow and materialistic. Seriously, you were already together, why do you need a rock?

Ask my husband that, it was his idea. Considering we got married at 18, he said he wanted to buy me the ring he wanted to back then, but couldn't afford. And keep your judgements about the age we got married, to yourselves, thanks. =) Things are working out beautifully.

well, then YDI for marrying at 18 and exactly how many years have you been married?

fmlfmlfml15 0

oh whoops.....6 years.....never mind, my mistake.

I really, really, really wish I could thumbs up your comment.

Im sorry on behalf of everyone saying these mean things to you just because they wish someone would be nice enough to buy them pretty things. I personally think getting married at 18 is ok if one feels they are ready to be married at 18, and people who say otherwise don't have to get married at 18 themselves!

Why would you put a diamond in your pocket? You should have been more careful!

Please tell me the irony was on purpose ?

today, I found a 1 karat diamond in a small baggie. my life rocks

Why didn't you just put the ring on when you got it?

Eesh, people are being way to mean to this woman. I'm sorry about your ring and glad it got worked out!
