OP here! Maybe I should have specified that the medication causes mild confusion, as in, maybe I forget where a specific resident keeps their towels. Alzheimer's residents can get very upset if everything is not done in a specific way. I would never go to work if I thought I could not do my job!

seriously you need to take care of the confused elderly, not be confused yourself. If you forget you gave someone a medication, or whatever, you're opening yourself up for a lawsuit. Get your shit straight is right, I don't blame those old geezers!
I am a CNA, not an LPN or RN. I don't handle medications or preform any kind of treatment. I help people get dressed, eat, use the toilet, etc. and my medication only caused mild confusion. I'm not going to kill anyone by forgetting where their deodorant is ;)
Seriously?????? Get better before you start working. This could have major repercussions.
I do the same kind of work. Please, OP, take some time off or get your medications adjusted before you seriously hurt somebody that is counting on you.

Maybe it would be better to take some time off until you're done using that medication. Or at least until you can get those side effects under control. I wouldn't want a doped-up nurse taking care of me.
I'm sorry but them telling you to get your shit together is pretty funny. Hopefully the side effects of your medication go away.
