Employee if the month is just a 'carrot on a stick' for people who work at places like McDonalds and other low pay employers. It's supposed to get you to work harder without giving you any extra pay, bonuses or other benefits. Once you get a little work and life experience you'll see it for the insult to your intelligence that it is. Companies that really want to reward hard work will offer something better than your picture on the wall.
You guys forgot The Devil Wears Prada and Dance Gavin Dance.
That makes little sense. If you went above and beyond to be employee of the month, you'd think they'd allow some leeway. And it sounds like you're not normally late... Or you'd hope you wouldn't be employee of the month.
I really think being late it a really good reason to fire someone, unless it happens all the time. From the sound of it, that's not the case.
Gives a new meaning to "coming and going".
How late were you?
