Just another reason to work hard for your degree... It'll make leaving for other opportunities so much sweeter... show him what you can do!
And why would they give the promotion to the one who will be getting a better job with their college education? Delayed gratification, suffer a little now. Enjoy great rewards later. This of course assumes that your schooling is not for your position in this company. And that you’re getting a marketable skill from your education.
Of course, the boss doesn’t know what you plan to do after you get your degree.
Every company puts time and money into employees. Every employee that leaves represents lost profits. If upon graduation you intend to stay with this employer then communicate that to your boss. Otherwise he is right to promote the employees that are committed
