Today, in an effort to make new friends in my history class, I sat in the empty seat next to a friendly-looking guy. He got up, walked away, and sat down in a different seat. FML

What an ass. Clearly, looks can be deceiving. Next time go sit next to the pitbull-looking guy.

Follow him and be a creeper, but make it look really obvious. When he starts talking to you, spaz out and act like a weirdo. But FYL, wait a bit and people will start talking to to you.

maybe he's just uncomfortable with new people! I know I am.... Schools almost over and I don't talk to anyone in my maths or lit classes just because I'm very.... sociaphobic or something like that. I just plain don't like meeting new people when I'm by myself. It sorta.. terrifies me. (I apologise for any spelling mistakes)

If there are plenty of other empty seats and you sit down right next to someone (or someone sits down next to you), it'd seem creepy to most people. IDK, maybe it's just me, but I don't think that you can make friends very quickly by creeping them out and making them feel uncomfortable, haha. If there weren't that many seats open, then it makes more sense and doesn't seem creepy. From what it sounds like, if the guy was easily able to go find a new seat, I doubt it was that kind of situation. Thus... the OP was clearlyyyy in creeper-mode. :)

If there were more obvious open spaced seats available then I would have probably moved too. Nothing creeps me out more in a class then when some stranger sits right next to me with plenty of other seats open. Unless it was one of a few seats left then YDI for being a creeper.

Yeah... that is pretty sad. Maybe he was saving a seat for his friend. and rather then tell you to move, he got up... On the other hand, "nice looking" don't judge a book by its cover.
