Today, it's my 25th birthday and all of the friends who promised they could come had excuses why they couldn't make it. Now I'm at the bar, alone. FML

The only way to save this is if your friends are at your place fixing a surprise party. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Time to look into making better friends. Happy birthday OP!

so you turn 25 this year too. i am now 25 years too in this year too... i think that your friend should tell you earlier if they cannot come to celebrate your birthday.

(Gollum's voice) you don't have any friends.. nobody likes you

Awww I would have come.....if I knew who you are and where you were of course. No one should spend their birthday alone.

Hey all, OP here, thanks for the birthday wishes. I do have some good friends who I regularly go out with. But it is a Monday so I didn't expect a whole lot. The two friends I expected the most had to be up early for work and another fell down the stairs and broke 3 ribs. I know I will see them all soon. Plus who could ask for a better birthday present than getting an FML posted and a bunch of strangers wishing you happy birthday?! Hahaha. P.S. The bartender who carded me didn't even say happy birthday.

Omg My sisters birthday was yesterday~! So you share birthdays small world. We didn't do much c: I got her 100$ for concert ticket funds since she enjoys that stuff. Happy birthday to you I hope you get to celebrate later with people you care about

Having to get up early for work is a BS excuse if there ever was one OP. I mean sure it'd be fine if you were asking him/her to attend your kid's recital but damn it's your birthday party.

Yeah....that's the thing about getting older. Eventually no one gives a shit that it's your birthday. If you're really lucky, your significant other will actually remember and give you a card and maybe you'll go out to dinner.

I had my 25th last month. Spent it at a funeral as my grandfather left us just a day ago. Needless to say, I would have much rather had a lonely night at a bar.

Sounds like my 18th birthday. Not even my grandparents turned up
