Today, I had my 21st birthday party. My friends told me to have the party even though it had been 5 months since my actual 21st birthday. They asked me why I didn't have one originally and I jokingly told them it was because I didn't think anyone would come. Turned out nobody came after all. FML

Been there done that OP, had a little party planned for my 20th birthday and pizza ordered and everything and no one showed up because they were suddenly busy, and the one that could didn't because "no one else was coming so what's the point" :( happy birthday op

Something similar happened to one of my old friends. When she and I were just getting to know each other, she invited me to her birthday party at a roller-skating rink. Only one other friend of hers showed up, and left halfway through the party to go hang out with some guy she liked; I stayed and had an awesome time and ended up saving my friend from having an awful, sad birthday.
