Today, it's the first day of my Hawaiian honeymoon. We found out that the pool is under construction and our room is infested with roaches. We are paying $375 a night for this. FML

Today, I'm on vacation. I spent $4000 to surprise my boyfriend on a trip to Hawaii. We have been together over a year. Turns out, he hates the outdoors. He's mad at me for bringing him here and is upset at everything. He's in the room reading, I'm at the bar drinking $10 Mai Tai's. FML

Today, my pregnant girlfriend and I moved into our first home together, signing a 1-year lease. Less than 12 hours later, we've discovered that the place is infested with cockroaches and we have a mouse. The landlord won't let us out of the contract. FML

Today, I hired an exterminator to get the roaches out of the house I'm renting. I came back from work and went to my bathroom, noticing that he used the plunger to unclog the toilet after he took a dump. After $150, there was shit all over my floor and plunger, and roaches still in my kitchen. FML

Today, my girlfriend and I moved back in after over a month of couch hopping and $2,000 of heat and chemical treatments for a chronic bedbug issue. I just found bedbugs on my legs. We've used all our favors and have nowhere to go. FML

Today, while vacationing in Mexico, the Airbnb we were supposed to check into today for 3 weeks just called to say that due to a broken water pipe, they're unable to host us. We're supposed to check out of our current stay in an hour. FML

Get your money back. As a hotel, they are contractually obligated to provide a clean and hospitable environment. The fact that it clearly isn't means they breached this contract, and releases you and your spouse from the obligation of payment. If they refuse to give you the money back, you can sue for breach of contract & pain and suffering. The More You Know

This is Hawaii. Those aren't roaches, they are (in Florida) Palmetto bugs...etc. And why would you need a pool when the beautiful, clear, warm ocean is right there...I have never understood this in tropical locations. People hang out at the pool when the hotel/resort has a gorgeous beach RIGHT THERE. Get over yourself.

No, they're roaches. Hawaii's filled with them... I should know, I live here. I wouldn't worry about roaches though, it's the massive poisonous centipedes you've gotta look out for. As for the pool, f-ing deal with it. Go to the beach.
