FYI, the ocean is freezing moat times of the year, and OP, go to the Hale Koa on Oahu! they are magnificent and have 4 pools that are always open. not to mention your a block away from wikiki! ~Lenalee ((who lived in Hawaii and knows the sales manager of the Hale Koa, we for free nights all the time ;) ))

Wow does that suck... If you're anything like me, you saved this to be the one and possibly only time you're ever going to get to some place exotic. FYL indeed. Incidentally I'd demand a refund and a relocation to another hotel.

YDI because you didn't do the research correctly, or booked with a traveling agency. I know it's a YDI because the same happened to me when i traveled to israel

Get your money back. As a hotel, they are contractually obligated to provide a clean and hospitable environment. The fact that it clearly isn't means they breached this contract, and releases you and your spouse from the obligation of payment.
