Today, it was my birthday. I spent all day in bed, sick with the flu. My boyfriend then broke up with me by text, because he didn't want to risk getting sick by doing it in person. FML

Well better luck next year, and well the years to come. As you get older you start to see things in people, such as whether they'll be a good person in the long run, just by seeing their early actions. You notice poor qualities early on and do not commit to those who are arrogant enough to do such things.

My boyfriend broke up with me on my sons birthday (and I was sad because I couldn't see my son-he was with his dad) and also I was dealing with really bad anxiety and depression. So I kinda feel where you're coming from OP...it sucks. Hope you feel better and have a good birthday without him once you do.
