She did it hoping her ex would catch them and be jealous. Then her ex could beat the new bf up and they could hook up next to a beaten new ex boyfriend. Except the ex had same idea but threesome.

Maybe it's the place that is awesome. When you're used to go somewhere you like, you don't have to stop just because it's not with the same person. I wouldn't give up on my favourite restaurant that is cheap and has delicious food on the account of the ex/new boyfriend. And, by the way, does "hooking up" always imply sexual stuff? I'm under that impression with the comments...

... Because that's what hooking up means. If you don't mean sex, you say something else, i.e. fooling around, making out, etc. Hooking up is sexy time, and that's that.
