Today, marks the third week in which my girlfriend has gone without taking a shower. She does this every so often, taking showers roughly once per month. She's convinced baby wipes will "hold her over". FML

I saw that on My Strange Addiction. The sound of running water would scare her because of being abused when she was little. So she would only shower like once a month and then just use baby wipes the rest of the time.

Someone not showering can come from them being sexually abused or them having clinical depression.

Could be true for some since being depressed does impact your motivation, even for small things. However, I have clinical depression and still cannot fathom the idea of going three weeks without a shower. If I go a single day without taking one, I feel gross.

She has a serious problem. That is not normal...at all. If she can't even take a shower, it is apparent she has zero concern for personal hygiene. Not to mention, wouldn't it take way more time and effort to wipe down your body with baby wipes, than to step in the shower for five minutes every day? I don't understand the reason anyone would do this.

Nasty. I could understand if she had a medical reason behind it - like extreme eczema (water, especially hot water, make eczema worse) or extremely rushed for time and uses wipes instead temporarily, but just because she's lazy is just gross as fk.
