I realize girls can be dressed in blue but it's annoying when everybody thinks your daughter is a boy. But now a days, I dressed my daughter in pink and people told me HE'S cute and when I dressed her like a Tomboy people said SHE'S cute.
Well grandma, you know what happens when you assume...
Did you tell her where to go or did you chicken out?
61, that is just ironic. : I agree, that does suck (well, if i had a baby)
take the clothes that don't indicate the gender, nothing wrong with wearing blue. My friend had a baby boy and even dressed in blue clothes (even clothes with sports/trucks on them) people still said SHE all the time just because of his hair and eye lashes. People will just guess the gender just by looking at the baby not really by the clothes.
Who cares? Use'em anyway. The kid isn't gonna remember, and will grow out of them in a few months anyway.

She should be glad there is a baby at all! You can't control the sex, I hope it's healthy! Good luck!
Tell her "Sure, we'll take it out of your nursing home fund".
