Today, my art teacher showed off a painting of his name he got in Japan. I can read Japanese, and it actually says "Old idiot". I really don't want to break it to him. FML

that's really messed up but I don't think I'd have it in me to break it to him either.

can you not writr him a note or something leaving it on his desk telling him? maybe write it on a computer so he does not regonise you handwriting. then you have told him but you wont feel awkward xx

I'd tell him it looks cool, then proceed to convince him to get a tattoo of it.

It's always good to make sure they know what's on it most of the time it's true but it looks like this artist wanted to make a quick buck...if it bothers you that much you could mention it or just let him believe what it says is true..

I'd break it to him as soon as class ends because well eventually he'll figure it out

Did it look something like this "古いばか"

Yeah, I think that's what it would be.

He got trolled in Japan xD You should tell him in private so that in the future he avoids severe future embarrassment.

And that is exactly why people who get tattoos in languages that they can't read are morons.

So it says 古いばか? "furui baka": literally, "old fool"

Everyone's name means something in a different language. My mother isn't very happy with her own name because it's the female version of "farmer", and she thinks it carries the stereotype that farmer's wives are very plain-looking.
