Today, my boss called me in to tell me I had got a raise. I bought a $1500 Chanel bag. Two hours later he called me in to tell me he was kidding. FML

It was stupid on your bosses part, but even more stupid on your part. Here is some advice for you: don't spend money that you don't have! But, I guess anyone who spends $1500 on a handbag wouldn't be smart enough to do that. The next time you want to throw away money like that, give it to me and I'll use it to spend on my tuition.

Hey OP,you know there's actually a law where you could sue him for that money back seeing as you bought the handbag under the pretense that he would be giving you the raise. Since he told you that you were getting the raise which caused you to go and buy the bag he is liable for the 1500 dollars that were spent.

I can't believe some of you think the company should pay for it. It was a phone call she can't prove what was said. She had nothing in writing and nothing on here says what her raise was. So if your boss says your getting a raise and it's 10 cents an hour and you go and spend $1500 how is that the companies fault? She is an idiot. I would never ever pay that much for a bag. I don't need people to look at my bag and think A) I have money B) I don't spend my money wisely C) I have a sugar daddy. I buy them on sale because after a year they go in the trash. I use it until it's ratty then replace.
