Today, my boss called me into his office and bitched me out for a good half hour for my attitude to our customers. Apparently I always look pissed off and sound sarcastic. That's just my face at rest. FML

yes, OP, that happens...unfortunately, we tend to be unaware about how our face looks atm, and ppl just ask if you're pissed or if something is wrong when you are feeling OK...it is pretty annoying.

I have the same problem. When you work in an office you are supposed to have a phoney smile on your face and also have a fake "nice business voice". When I went to an employment agency many years ago the b%*%$ told me that I sound too monotone and that I should speak "like this", she proceeded to show me how to speak correctly. Sometime last year I was also told about the monotone voice thing. Don't you just wanna say "kiss my ass sometimes?". I sure do. Don't forget your phoney smile. ( :

I get asked if I'm pissed off all the time lol. "Not 'til you asked, thanks..."

I know how you feel. I look really pissed off when I relax my face too.

Same here!! My friends are always like "Why are you glaring/scowling at me?!?" and I'm not. It's just the way my face is.

I'm the same way. People are always telling me to smile.

Sounds like one of my teachers in 8th grade just a serious look no sarcastic voice

That may be your face, but you can still control how you speak and interact with other people and your tone of voice. This is important in everyday life, especially when working in the public and in customer service fields.
