Today, my boss told me I ask too many questions and that's why they cut my hours in half. Officially, I'm a "Pharmacy Technician in Training", which means I'm trying to teach myself how to do the job without killing someone. All from on the job experience and an outdated textbook. FML

Uhh. Seriously? Match the drug name from the bottle you are pulling pills from to the label that is to be dispensed. If there is any chance of a drug interaction or a side effect the patient should be made aware of, you let that patient talk to the pharmacist- you know, the doctor who went to school for 6+ years to handle situations like that. You probably are asking too many questions. Here's what you need to know: 1) Hi. What's the name of the patient? 2) can you verify the address/date of birth/phone number? 3) DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR THE PHARMACIST? 4) thanks. Have a nice day.

**** it, just give everyone Tylenol. It cures almost everything..... Almost

Tussin cures everything. Almost out? Put some water in it, more tussin.

I know how you feel! It's a lot to take in! I've been doing it for 3 years and there are still questions I ask and I'm the head tech now! Hang in there and show them up!

I really don't want to be obnoxious, but I think you mean "an". Not "a".

Write down your questions, work to find the answers yourself. Then list the remaining questions and ask for a meeting with your boss to "validate" your self-training and make sure to show both lists of questions. They are morons not to train you.... If they don't keep you, show your sheets at your next job interview. Don't worry, OP, any good boss will love your attitude!

That's ridiculous. I started working in a pharmacy at 17 and I had NO idea what I was doing then. I had so many questions. A book won't even begin to answer them. That does not sound like a safe work environment at ALL. Even as an intern I have questions. I think it might be best to cut your losses and get employed elsewhere. If this is how they treat you while you're learning, I can't imagine it would be any better down the line.

*an outdated textbook. I see you really do need some training. Jk. I'm guessing they aren't watching you, so clepto some happy meds.
