Today, my boss told me they were letting me go because they "could no longer afford to pay me." Never mind the catered lunch they had the day before, which cost more than a week's worth of my salary. FML

Today, I was getting lunch at a fast food restaurant. My boss was in front of me, and in order to get on his good side I offered to pay. Instead, I got fired because I guess my boss assumed I was making fun of his salary, which I knew nothing about. FML

Today, I was laid off on the day I was about to put in an offer on a house. This company promised me the world, and I broke myself working to prove my worth. Turns out, I wasn't getting paid for the lunches and breaks I didn't take either. FML

Today, I was fired from my job for "lack of work". What that means is that my boss hired his good-for-nothing lazy son, who then got too big of a mortgage, and he had to let me go to pay him a higher salary. FML

Today, as usual, I got to my internship early, did everything my bosses asked. At the end of the day, I was fired after 3 weeks of working unpaid overtime because they found an applicant with more experience for the job I applied to and they wanted to cut costs. FML

Sounds like my company. They will lay off 150 people across the country to save money on payroll. Then hire two new VPs, each making twice what the 150 people they just laid off made combined.

I know what this is like, I got made redundant from my apprenticeship after the first year because they apparently couldn't afford to pay me anymore, they then held a corporate event that cost more than an entire year's salary for me. Made me feel great.

the same thing happened to me & others, got let off because they "hired too many people" and it was the weekend just before Christmas like, wouldn't you need extra staff? but ok.
