Record any and all interactions with him from now on.
Don't resign; let him fire you... By quitting/resigning from a job; you're not entitled to/can't apply for unemployment benefits while you're out of a job looking for another one.
Don't resign
Take acting classes and try again in two weeks
i suggest filming the next couple conversations too, just in case.
Why do you want to stay in such a place anyway? This guy could make everyday hell for you at work if you don't toe his line.
He wants to stay because he needs the paycheck
I would let him fire me. Not because it is good to be fired but you will not get unemployment if you quit. Hopefully something works out for you.
Perhaps the OP is bad worker and the boss is being nice giving the heads up
If the employee's performance is lacking they should be told specifically what they are doing wrong and/or what they need to improve and given a reasonable period of time to demonstrate results before being fired.
Do NOT do what he wants. Make him pay for his shadiness. If he fires you, you can still take legal action and sue him for wrongful termination.

He's a grade-A psychopath. Tell HR your suspicions and tell them exactly what he will do when you don't resign. Even better, pretend to concede to his will and maybe he'll say some things you can record.
damn dude tough break. I hope you can eventually get your proof for HR. good luck op
