There's zero chance that someone would go to that much effort to hurt you during a break-up unless you were a world-class **** to him in the first place. If he just wanted to end it with you, he'd have either visited you and done it nicely, phoned/texted you to do it the dick way, or just stopped calling altogether until you got the hint. (Or, my personal favorite, been standoffish and adversarial until she does the breaking-up part instead.)
