Today, my boyfriend bought me a silver necklace. I have a silver allergy, but I thanked him anyway and encouraged him to return it. I found out later that he knew about my allergy all along and bought it on purpose so he could return it, get a refund, and still look good. FML

Today, for our 8 month anniversary, my boyfriend bought me a hideous necklace with ugly charms hanging off it. I wore it anyway and got a rash from it on the side of my neck. After seeing the rash my boyfriend accused me of having a hickey from another guy and broke up with me. FML

Today, my boyfriend gave me a fancy chocolate candy and I got angry at him for forgetting that I'm allergic to chocolate and threw the candy into the garbage disposal. Turns out, he had spent a ton of money getting a chocolatier to put an engagement ring inside the candy that I just destroyed. FML

Today, I went to Tiffany's to exchange a bracelet my boyfriend had given me for our year anniversary. It was the first gift that he actually spent money on me for. The sales lady then told me that the bracelet was not a real Tiffany's item. FML

I would be royally pissed if my bf did that to me. it says he cares more his image, how he is perceived as being, than being genuinly good guy. I wouldn't necessarily dump him right off the bat but I would let him know the jig is up. good luck op.

I'm sure he asked if they did refunds before he bought it. It doesn't matter what he bought her if he was planning on getting the money right back so it might as well be as if he didn't buy her anything. If he really liked her he would have bought her something he didn't plan on getting returned.
