Being a douchnozzle isn't attractive or enticing at all. I wouldn't even try to be nice when saying no either. or maybe I would be normal/"nice". I'm really awkward and the times I've had to turn people down involved spontaneous laughter and grimacing and other stuff that make me feel like rotten trash bag later on. at least in this scenario I wouldn't have to feel like garbage after the fact.
