Sucks, I hope you stuck around to meet the other girl, she might not know either. She might appreciate the heads up. Why do so many people feel the need to cheat? Why not just break up honestly or talk about any problems that might be causing a problem that's making you look elsewhere?

Sometimes there are no problems. For example, a guy goes to a party alone and he's not single. Guy sees hot girl eyeing him. They're practically making out as they talk. He makes a spur of the moment decision to bang her. No one will know, right? And there we go, another FML materializes. :)

Kgirl2cute is right, I was referring to long-term cheating, or non-drunken cheating. I can kind of understand how drunken one night stand cheating happens (not that I in any way agree with it). Though I do believe that even in the case laughing_atyou outlined, the guy should come clean because it's still a horrible thing to do to someone. If you can't keep it in your pants (or whatever the girl equivalent is) then you aren't ready for a long term relationship.
