Today, my boyfriend of 4 years told me he was leaving me because we haven't slept together in a few weeks. I just gave birth to our first child and am still recovering from my c-section. FML

Okay I feel kind of dumb asking this, but in regards to #10s comment, is there any other type of birth besides vaginal?

Yes, a C-section is a surgery. Most of the time doctors end up doing it as a matter of convenience, a preventive procedure; IMO because they are idiots who don't know how to perform the basic function of bringing a human infant into the world. But it can be a lifesaver in an emergency situation.

A Caesarean section is a type of non-vaginal birth where there's a surgical incision made and the child is removed through that, rather than through the birth canal. They're usually done when there's a complication that endangers either the mother or the child, but sometimes they're requested.

C-sections are used for more than just emergencies and "idiots who don't know how to perform the basic function of bringing a human infant into the world." It can be much easier on both the mother and baby if the baby is in an awkward position. Having a natural birth could then put more pressure than necessary on the baby and mother which poses more of a risk.

I'm sorry he's a creep, but if he's actually that shallow, you and your child are both better off without him. Be sure to get a lawyer right away; he doesn't deserve to just walk away and leave you to raise the baby.

That's what you get for having kids. Remember that next time you feel like having another bastard child.

The boyfriend here is the textbook definition of "a piece of shit".

What a ****. Get as much child support as you can from him.

To everyone saying stuff about how the OP is stupid for sleeping with an asshole or whatever, shut up. Who knows if the baby was planned, and there is a VERY high chance she didn't know what a jerk he was until now. My exboyfriend got a girl pregnant and promised to be the best daddy ever and was around for the pregnancy and as soon as the baby was there he suddenly stopped caring. Some men are good at hiding it. And some young men think they can handle a baby and when it comes down to it, they realize they can't. It's just that most of them won't admit it. To the OP - that really sucks, and I hope you try to get child support. However, keep in mind that fathers rarely actually pay the support when they aren't involved with the baby, so I hope you have a plan or a job. And I wish you the best of luck.
