Today, my crush was walking up to me and I put my earphones in, playing hard to get. When I heard him say something about a date I take an earphone out and say, "Oh, I didn't see you there!" His response, "They're not connected to anything," holds up the end of my earphones and walks away. FML

Today, I was walking to school with my earphones in, when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I was shocked, and whirled around to hit him in the crotch. I soon realized he was just trying to return the commuter pass I'd dropped at the station. FML

Today, I was alone with a work acquaintance at lunch. A noise came from his pocket; he whipped out his iPod Touch and said "Sorry, I have to take this," before walking away with the iPod to his ear. Not only did he not want to talk to me, he thought I was stupid enough to confuse an iPod with a phone. FML

Playing hard to get will only drive people away. By pretending to ignore him, you are being extremely condescending. Furthermore, some people will see the headphones and assume that you do not feel like talking. Why not acknowledge him and try to make it obvious that you care? In any case, enjoy your loneliness. Agree with most of them, but # 22, # 38, and the one above me especially. God, seriously? Guys don't like that... I'm a girl, and I know this. NO ONE likes that. Do you know how obnoxious it is when someone thinks you're listening to them and engaging in conversation, and then you say "Oh, I didn't see you there"? Good for him, for seeing what a dumbass you are. If you really do like him, then just talk to him about it. Maybe he likes you too! Seeing as you're in fourth grade, you're probably too young for a real relationship anyway, but who knows? Seriously though, being desperate is awful. You're making him think you don't like him. If that's what you're trying to do, then great-that's the way to do it-but if you're trying to make it obvious you like him, don't pretend to ignore him. You know?
