Well now he's got two. Or you could use it? Make a positive out of the situation.
Caveat emptor. Live an learn. I would never buy something as a gift that couldn't be returned, unless it was one of a kind (like art or custom jewelry). To bad, but maybe your father can return his?
sell it
isn't there a law in your country that you have 14 days to bring it back if you have the receipt, and get your money back or at least a gift card from the store
exactly, I'm in the Netherlands and same here.
The country itself doesn't have a law for it. Businesses each have their own policy, and some places do indeed have a no return/exchange/refund policy.
This is why I don't like surprises... Hopefully your dad is at least grateful you were so thoughtful!
Who tf buys themselves a Christmas present
One word for you OP: eBay
Sell its lmao
that's why it's stupid and inconsiderate to buy your self something for Christmas, before Christmas. some people have a hard enough time finding someone a gift. I know it was expensive, so he probably assumed no one would buy it for him, but still. sorry OP maybe you can give it to someone else.

Screw it, wrap it and put it under the tree anyway. Teach him a lesson in patience.
You have excellent present-choosing skills, OP! Hopefully you can sell it or exchange it :)
