Today, my dad found out that I'm a member on a bodybuilding forum and decided to join it too. It's only been a few hours, but he's already told everyone that he's my dad, posted that I'm a "total pussy in real life", and questioned my sexuality. Thanks. FML

Yeah, that's real funny that both your dad and you see a different sexuality as an insult Time for both of you to grow up!

It's not his fault that he is insulted by being called gay. It is in modern culture that being called gay is an insult.

@18 OP never mentioned an insult. Don't get offended so easily.

Actually it IS an insult and something to be offended by. Even openly gays/lesbians would be insulted to be called straight when they aren't. I don't see a reason for the OP to grow up, only the father for using that as an insult.

@49, People generally think a person is straight if they don't really show the "signs" of being gay/lesbian. They usually know that people will mistake them as straight. Being openly gay myself, I don't find it insulting when people think I'm straight.

Pretty sure I'd take it as an insult to be called gay, when I am straight. What do you expect, someone to run up to me: call me gay and then I say "Yay thank you that means so much to me"?

Just an FYI, we don't know OP's sexual orientation. It doesn't say in the FML. It's called heterosexism when you just assume that someone is straight. OP could be gay and OP's father could very well be dissappointed and try to tell people that OP is straight. Don't assume OP is straight. Don't assume anybody is straight. When you do that, it's heterosexism and people can take it very offensively.

#18 We don't know that OP would perceive it that way generally, but what is clear is that he knows his dad is using it as an insult to his son on the site. And you're absolutely right that someone thinking you are LGBT shouldn't be seen as an insult, even if (looking at you #68) you are straight.

And over here, you'll see butthurt people, patting each other's backs.

Hey,man,welcome to bodybuilding family

Your dad's clearly competing, and officially said game on, shun!! -based on his fierce commitment, I think I'd just let him have this one

Please, tell your dad challenge accepted. Never back down to your father.... Unless he's batman.
