Today, my dad sent me $200 by mail, only to mail it to the wrong person. So now some random person is getting $200 from my dad. FML

This is why you don't send cash in the mail..because if it were a check or money order I'm pretty sure in order to cash it you have to show ID. Your dad is an idiot if he sent cash.

As a mail carrier, I can say that there is a decent possibility that the letter will get returned to your dad. It may take a couple weeks, but it is not unlikely.

If he sent a check you can order a stop payment. If it was cash, that was dumb but chalk it up to a learning experience. Realistically though if it went to the wrong address with your name they would forward it or send it back to him. If he addressed it to the wrong person he is a complete moron
