Today, my dad told me he was planning to have his steady girlfriend over for dinner. He's only had a few relationships since he and my mom split up when I was very young, so I was excited to meet the woman. He then told me that I knew her already. My dad is dating my aunt on my mothers side. FML

Today, I just found out my dad got remarried a year ago. The woman is officially living with us, I got to have lunch with her alone today. I found out she is only 22, with a 14 year old little brother. My dad's 47. I'm 17, now with a 14 year old uncle and a mom that can pass for my girlfriend. FML

Today, my mother invited me to a nice restaurant to meet her boyfriend whom she's been seriously dating for a month. Imagine my surprise when she led me to a table and my boyfriend's father stood up, shocked, to greet me. Rather than being horrified, she is now planning double dates every week. FML

my grandpa did this, a couple years after him and my grandma broke up. and they had kids. it was a little difficult at first but in the end everyone was really happy and it just worked. they were married till the day my aunt died, and my grandpa and and grandma were still really close friends after it all.

I have an uncle who married one aunt and then the other and then the first one again. it was only weird when the kids (who never really liked the second one, even as their aunt) started referring to them as "Auntie Mumma", "Aunt Mom" and "Uncle Daddy". We like the married in uncle better than the blood aunts anyway.
