Today, my dad, under threats of disowning me, insisted that I offer my sister a job in my company. I run my own law firm, she is a hairdresser. FML

It's not up to you or your father to supply your sister with a job. Especially if she's under qualified. FYL

No one else heard this morning's NPR story about the man who graduated from law school, opened a barber shop, and gives legal advice in the back?? Sounds like the perfect solution here!

is she really good at what she does? you could probably improve your win % at trial by making sure your attorneys and clients are meticulously groomed before court. humans are incredibly shallow and that includes judges and juries

Does she even want to work for you? Fhl as well if she is happy with her profession and you dad is trying to force her to change.

So the law is useless knowledge now? Sweet!

Tell him you will hire her as soon as she passes The Bar.

Hmm, having a totally unqualified person with potential to undo the success that you have studied years to accomplish, or having your dad disown you as his daughter... Decisions, decisions... (Besides, if your dad is foolish enough to threaten that kind of petty bullshit, he's not a real "father" to begin with.)

I would've cut two family members off my family tree.

Office person, filing, mabe front desk receptionist?

I'm sure you can give her and assistant job or secretary. She is your family and you should care she needs employment
