Seriously... at 12!?!?! REALLY???? To all parents of girls 10+: Girls having sex at these ages happens!! Girls decide that they want older more mature men because they think they should be in relationships like on OC and the Hills and what not... This kind of thing is likely true and does happen. Of course these girls will find out that later when they're really ready to have sex, their partner won't feel good knowing they're sharing their love with someone who gave their virginity away at 12! It seems cool to their friends in Grade 7 or 8 when they say they 'took the plunge' but in when they get to high school, it's actually quite sl*tty. Next time tell them their virginity is something you can only give once and they have to be emotionally ready NOT physically. To all the younger girls reading, it really is nasty and disgusting to lose it so young. - Cheeter.

Omfg that is not ok I said to my little girl 18 because that is when they are officially grown up(she is 21 right now). I think you should sit your 12 year old down and have a very long talk. Then go to the doctor and make sure she doesn't have any diseases or pregnant

I have read all of the very long comments and I think every one knows what they are talking about and any one who clicked YDI are very, very wrong see this is a very serious thing going on. Children are having sex at younger and younger ages lately I think us parents should start eduacating our children earlyer if you already haven't to assure safety to our kids and to make sure that they know when the right time is I my self have already done this my little girl is 21 now and married she took My advise and she is happy that she did. I think children should learn about sex(including stds,condoms, etc.) at around 13. Knowing about sex at age of 10 is not deadly. The OP should have explained that having sex is not a bad thing but she shouldn't have sex with every second guy/girl she meets, and only should if she thinks she's ready and not because everyone in school did it, yes I know many young people have had sex but most only say they did because everyone in school does. Don't forget everyone has different views and are different mentally, some might be ready to understand and willing to talk at 14 other at 17. Some "girls" who had child/ren at 19 are still good mothers why, because they were mentally ready. But some aren't at that age, they might only be emotionally ready for birth and children at 25. And yes, most 12 year olds know pretty well what sex is. Yes, I do know 12 year-olds that watch ****, so what!, thats one way of learning about sex.
