Haha! My boyfriend once wanted to watch me put one for some reason. It was awkward but we're close enough (or maybe just horny enough) to have sex while on my period so I didn't see it as much of a big deal.

I could see if she took it out and waved it around the room or smacked you on the side of the head with it , you could be upset then. As a rule, changing a tampon is a pretty discreet thing to do. No worse than her wiping herself after going to the bathroom.
