Today, my girlfriend broke up me with for being the "perfect boyfriend". Apparently I'm the best boyfriend she's ever had, and she didn't know how to take it. So she dumped me. FML

what she means is that even though things between the two of you are amazing and would probably evolve in to something spectacular - the idea she has with spending the rest of her life with you isn't matching up with how she depicted living her life at this moment... it's not that she doesn't care about you, it's just that she doesn't want to skip out on things she wants to do in life before finding "true love".

NOT why she broke up with you. She is trying to make you feel better. There is an alternative reason. I'd bet on it. Still FYL, but you just got lied to. Bet she finds her "next" boyfriend really quick for just having lost the best boyfriend ever. Might even be someone who you thought was just a friend while you were dating.

as a woman, i just want to say that i like to be treated well and with respect. but i do agree with you that a lot of women want crappy boyfriends so they can feel better about themselves, and when they get in a relationship with a "perfect boyfriend" then they feel unworthy. my boyfriend is fantastic and ive often felt that i dont deserve to date him but then i remind myself that ill never find another one like him. :) some girls are just so quick to let the good ones go.
