Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML

... Oh my goodness... SirAwesome!? Is that you!? It's me, DrAwesome! We went to Awesome High together, remember? Wow, how are things with you? Heh, looks like you're first. Some things never change, eh? You really should call more often, we could get the whole Awesome gang together and go... bowling or something, yeah? Good luck with being a knight, or whatever the "sir" means. I'm a doctor, and, well... It kinda speaks for itself how awesome my life is. But we really should catch up, man.

Most boring FML ever, this is just a typical break up scenario?

this is not an FML people break with people every goddamn day whoever let this through is an idiot YDI - its a standard girl response.....

well maybe this shouldn't be a standard response! it's one of the more hurtful ones, cause it's hardly ever true that the other person is trying to make them feel bad, especially right at the breakup

I agree completely. And even if one makes the other feel bad... well, duh, breakup conversations feel awful. "You're making me feel bad" is not a conversation stopper. It's just immature.

women are like cocaine. they give you this extreme happiness when youre with them but then they dump you just as fast. :(

I believe that is more like the experience of crack, and the double-entendre is much funnier, too.

I understand the FML you're trying to get across: She said she's gonna feel bad when you say you care about her, but you feel worse from what she said already. But I'm sorry, it just doesn't cut it as an FML, and you do look somewhat whiney posting it as one. Hoping the best for ya man.

he's not trying to make her feel guilty! or even feel bad. just because he thinks he can save something that was clearly important to him, and he feels will last, makes him a bad person? if he had just accepted it and moved on then he wouldn't have cared enough. when she says "you're gonna make me feel bad," that's a crushing blow when that's not what you're aiming for. besides, we don't even know why she's leaving him. maybe it's for that exact reason, that she doesn't want to feel bad for something that she has done. i sympathize with this guy, cause it's moments like this where you realize how cruel people can be, and how different the person you loved can act when they don't care about you anymore, or if they ever cared about you.

WAAAAAAAAOOOOW. I think I know this guy. I said that to my boyfriend after I broke up with him...JUST SAYING.

same! im in michigan too. i swear to god i thought this post was about my breakup until i saw the date. that just goes to show how common this scenario is.

I feel bad for the guy, but still it was hard enough for here to break up with you.....You'll get over it though

alright i admit it, this was my fml. but maybe you people dont understand how hard it is to be concise and yet still describe a situation accurately. i did, however, forget to mention that she was laughing when she said it. dont judge me, especially when there are over 10,000 people who say they agree.

who ever said he was just trying to guilt her is probably the same type of person that would give him a response like that in the first place. Ive been there, its not guilt, its just your feelings coming out in hopes that if she realizes you care, she might stay. its natural, and yea, its common. But you didnt deserve it and anyone who expresses how they feel to try and SAVE the relationship rather than guilt the person leaving doesnt deserve it either.
