Unlike most people, I don't agree that you should run OP, then the girlfriend's life is on the line. It's a very tricky situation, you don't want to stay with woman that's mentally unstable but you don't want to leave because she's mentally unstable and might kill herself. She could be threatening to kill herself to manipulate you to keep you from leaving 'cause she's afraid of being abandoned. Sounds like she could have Border-line Personality Disorder. Doesn't explain why she wants to get married though, unless she thinks if you both get married, you won't leave her. Either way, don't just leave, get her some help! Good luck OP!
