Today, my husband told me that he's letting his mother move in with us. He told her it was alright without even consulting me first. I hate my mother-in-law so much that I'm contemplating divorce rather than living with her. FML

He made a MAJOR decision without speaking to you. I'm guessing this isn't the first time he has done something like that. it shows a major lack if respect. It's not about wether you love your husband, but deciding how much respect he owes you. And respecting yourself as well. I would leave at this point too. too much is too much. FYL

you're just not understanding what I'm saying by the way I worded it. OP probably has a good reason to hate the mother in law, unless she is a bitch and has no reason. I agree that it shouldn't be a reason for divorce. Id just be mad my husband didn't talk to me about it first and just let her move it.

definitely have a talk with your hubby. but unless your already having marital issues, deal with the problem rather then running from it. Never know, maybe having to move in with her son and his wife will humble your mother n law enough to be more agreeable. Just make sure, in as nice of way that's possible, that she knows it's your home.

honestly op that truly sux it wud be hell if my mother in-law moved in because for some odd reason she hates me and my daughter because were white. divorcing ur husband seems a bit harsh tho don't u think? just lay down the law and tell ur husband she can't stay with u she'll have to find accommodations elsewhere.
