Today, my husband told me that he's letting his mother move in with us. He told her it was alright without even consulting me first. I hate my mother-in-law so much that I'm contemplating divorce rather than living with her. FML

Today, I can no longer tolerate my mother-in-law. She's not a bad person, but anytime she opens her mouth it is only to criticize, chastise, scold, or blame me. My husband is too terrified of her to ask her to leave our home. FML

Today, my mother-in-law yelled from across the house for me to come quickly. She sounded frantic, so I rushed and asked what was wrong. She said, "Nothing." and that she just wanted to remind me that she hates my guts. She'll be living here with me and my wife for the next two months. FML

Today, my husband refused to let my mother move in with us. He said he’d rather buy her another house than let her move in, then he actually threatened divorce before he’d let her move in. He’s never been this stubborn before about anything. I don’t get it. FML

Today, I found out that my unemployed and very needy mother-in-law will be moving in with us soon. And during my conversation on the phone with her, she expects us to buy a house and my wife and I can "live with her." My wife agrees with all of this. FML

Today, my mother-in-maw informed us that she sold her house and is moving in with us so we'll "take care" of her in old age. She's in perfect health. We've only been married for 4 months. My wife can't stand her for more than 2 weeks at a time, let alone living with us. FML

Sounds like my fiance... he agreed that we would move to Texas with some of his friends so he could work on a ranch and never even asked my opinion on the situation.... no offense to anyone who likes Texas , but I HATE it .. and I'm not even living there yet. I'm guessing the situations are similar in the sense that you're husband doesn't seem to understand why you're so upset either. Hope all works out well for you.

What would you do if your mother had no where to stay? Say "oh, no, my wife doesn't like you so you're gonna have to live on the street." When my mother got divorced and needed a place to stay I told her she could stay with me before consulting with my boyfriend because she's my MOTHER! If he wouldn't accept that then that's just too bad.
