Today, my husband was arrested on 2 felony charges in a sting. We've been married 5.5 years, had almost enough money for a down payment on a house, were trying to get pregnant, and had a non-refundable trip to London planned. We are now broke and on the verge of divorce. FML

On the plus side- You had money saved to hire a lawyer. You are not pregnant. You can have an awesome trip to London by yourself or with someone else. It sucks right now but at least you have resources and you will come out of this unscathed. Him though, he sounds like he screwed himself.

People have been able to lie to their spouses about their actions, and successfully, for MILLENNIA. So assume it is possible for a criminal to be dishonest, even EXCEPTIONALLY dishonest, to those who could say things in a court of law that could put them away for a very long time.

Wow time for a great lawyer and sorry for ya OP and I know exactly how you feel I was deceived by my spouse for 15yrs , don't stay with him liers like that only get better at deception🤔🙄😵😤😒

Kinda makes me wonder if the money for the down payment and trip was all gotten legally. If you didn’t know about his criminal activities, OP, FYL, but I’m glad you didn’t have a kid with him before you found out.
