Thanks #8, I'll talk to my current girlfriend about your suggestion. I'm also in medical school. I have a lively sense of humor and make fun of people when they make mistakes, but keep it reasonable so no one gets their feelings hurt. I doubt the OP was hurt by my original comment, but if s/he was, I then apologize.
Sign from God that you should either: A. Get cooking lessons. B. Should've had an abortion.
She might not be bad cook, she just needs to make more kid friendly dinners. Homemade pizza, breaded chicken wings with ketchup, or homemade macaroni. My favorite food that my mother made was stir fry chicken and broccoli with peanut butter sauce over noodles. And I was a extremely picky kid! I said FYL because you can't help what your kids like, but actually I think that YDI if you don't even try to make kid friendly meals.
Kraft Dinner FTW ! LOL
#23 FTW. it made me 'LOL'. :]
Well, at least they might have been trying to show their appreciation. I remember a few years ago, I raved for a little while about some spinach dip that I thought my mom had made. Usually, every other time she makes it, it was fairly bland, as she generally finds anything other than salt to be too strong. Not a huge deal - I can always add stuff if I want to. But this time, it was tastiest dip I'd ever tasted. Turned out she had bought some from a store. Whoops.
Well, it is hard to top Kraft Dinner... that stuff is delicious!
It's okay. My Mom sucks at cooking too and she knows it. I'm picky... So she hears it every... other... day... >.>;;
Haha! Strangle the ungrateful little pests! No worries though... They will, without a doubt, miss your cooking one day. Then who will have the last laugh? :)

At least they enjoyed it...and it's easy to make!
If your husband likes your cooking, don't sweat it. Kids are naturally scornful of stuff that doesn't have fat or sugars or some such thing that tastes good to undeveloped taste buds. Try to convince your man to help with meals if not cook them himself, and in the meantime seek some advice or try a cookbook. Don't make wacky dishes or try anything with a strong flavor to it, as a remotely picky kid will hate it. Avoid veggies that are naturally spicy or tangy. And, as much as it may kill a health-conscious mother to do it, don't buy low-fat, low-sodium, low-etc anything. They really do taste worse than the standard. Also consider making stuff like pizza, which is much healthier homemade than from a chain.
