Today, my landlord decided to have people visit my apartment since I'm moving out next month. She had warned me about potential visitors this week but didn't specify when. I work the graveyard shift and apparently the fact that I was sleeping in my room during the visit didn't bother her at all. FML

I would have stayed awake if she would have called before, not like it happens often

I can not speak about Canada, but as per EU policy, a landlord is entitled to show prospective tenants the place, 6 weeks prior to current occupant's lease expiry date. Provided he provides at least 24 hour notice and has arranged a fixed time with the current occupant to access the property.

Send a hundred pizzas to her place while she's sleeping.

I know of a landlord that let himself into someones house and woke them up to ask why there were beer bottles in their bin.

That's werid as hell, you wake up to people looking at you haha!

Haha yeah when my parents were selling their house and I was in bed one time I had the real estate agent waking me up lol. That was embarrassing only being in my undies lol

That's against the law. Know your rights.

The landlord must be money hungry and need people in the moment Op is moved out completely. Op's situation is something I would complain to my parents about. I would be so mad. Who knows if anything was taken...

This happened all the time at my old apartment. I've been asleep at the time, and I was also in the bathroom one time too! Talk about embarrassing. I figured they do this everywhere.
