I don't think the landlord can show it off while you are still living there because you're paying for it still. I don't know for sure but I think she can't do that.

In Australia at least, that it completely illegal. 24 hours notice is required, and if the tenant says it's not going to be ok, they HAVE to make other arrangements. Ummm know your rights.

The law is they have to give you 24 hours notice in the U.S. I bet Canada has a similar law. Sue her ass. Normally, I'm against suing but, that's invasion of privacy. What if you'd been in the shower or had a boyfriend with you? That would've been embarrassing! She needs to learn a lesson!

I think regardless of announcing herself a Key step was missing. Namely the call the day before to inform OP she'd be coming.
