Today, my landlord started showing my apartment, where I have lived and paid rent for over 2 years, to prospective tenants. I didn't realize that I was moving. FML

That's against the law. You should report him.

Well that's one way to give 30 days notice

That sucks! I have to move outta my house because the owner is selling it. I move next week and my sons birthday party is Saturday :/

I would talk to your landlord, maybe he confused you with another tenant. :)

Only if he doesn't give you your due notice, which is usually 30 days. He can start showing the apartment beforehand... Although it is an ass-move to do it in this order :p...

Hope you kept your copy of the renters contract.

so sorry. but I think landlord wants you out :/

If all of the apartments have the same layout, he may have just been showing yours off as an example for another apartment that is becoming available. They do that sometimes in my building. Your landlord should have better explained himself though.

You live in Canada you have bigger problems then a bad landlord

Yeah, like our equal rights and free health care, how horrible.

Maybe he just needed one to show. And I would have asked him wtf was going on.

Don't let anyone in, tell them you're still living there
