smart landlord you have there
It was really that guy's lucky day. Unfortunate for both of you, though. Hopefully you had enough details to get them caught and your money back.
Just sue for your money back, and the real landlord can get her money back too.
Uh, do you really think that he/she knoss the guy's name? Obviously, if he/she did they would have already contacted the police
or help with finding a place to live.
There are some real assholes in this world smh
I couldn't find any good jokes to say :(
Then why would you make this useless comment in the first place?
If you paid him in cash then YDI. Any real person renting property would have you pay with a check or money order for proper documentation of payment.
Actually I had a landlord that didn't want us to pay by check. And many that I inquired with that said they prefer cash. Must be something about tax evasion probably, though the reason they gave us was they find it more "convenient" or that they didn't want to wait till the cheque cleared. Although it's best to keep away from that, not all who ask for cash are scammers in this sense. But most are not good landlords.
We pay cash but get receipts for every psyment.
I'm sorry you fell for a con, OP. If you need a place to stay tonight, I have an excellent bridge I could rent you a spot under.
I can do one even better, I'll sell her the bridge real cheap.
And I'll throw the golden gate in free.
That's cold. Real cold.....Mostly in winter, but in summer too
That's probably the most FYL I have ever read. Good luck.
When renting or buying, always ask for credentials and building plans and sign a formal contract that you have verified by a lawyer buddy of yours for free. If you don't have a lawyer buddy, I suggest Mike Ross
Yeah not everyone has a lawyer buddy
Better call Saul!
