Sue the landlord. In America, they owe you advance warning of at least 24 hours. In the UK, you have the right to live in your residence undisturbed.
In Canada, as long as you gave a written notice that you're moving, the landlord can come as he pleases with prospective tenants between 9 am and 9 pm. He doesn't even have to tell you he'll be coming, so falling asleep in front of the TV and waking up in front of four people is a possibility.
Are you behind on your rent payments? Or is it near the end of your lease? … None of that would justify showing the apartment while you’re still living there and without notice. But it might explain the landlord’s motivation.
