Today, my mom cooked her dog some potatoes, carrots, beef, rice and peas. She cooks better food for her dog than she will for our family. FML

Little does she know she's doing her dog a real disservice. Cooked people food is not suitable for a dog. Dogs are not omnivores like we are. They need a balanced diet specific to their needs. Either a quality commercial dog food or a properly prepared raw diet. Cooked, de-boned meat is essentially useless to a dog. Her dog is no doubt deficient in numerous vitamins/minerals like calcium. I don't know if that makes you feel any better.
